Position: Mechanical Engineer

Reporting to: Equipment Engineering Manager

Description:

Our client is a well-established, global leader in the design, development and construction of blow molding equipment, dies and processing systems. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to the advancement of our product line, systems, and applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the engineering and development of machine components, systems, and assemblies related to polymer processing and manufacturing equipment. Strong communication skills, a can-do attitude, mechanical expertise, personal discipline, and a solid understanding of the design release process are essential qualifications for this position.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Pay Range: $70,000-90,000

Position Requirements:

  • BSME from a 4+ year accredited university
  • 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical / Design / Applications Engineer
  • Proficiency in Solidworks for 3D modeling and 2D drawings
  • Team player with strong mechanical knowledge
  • Experienced problem solver with hands-on experience

Expectations Include:

  • Supporting the Equipment Engineering Manager and Mechanical Engineering Lead in delivering high-quality engineering and design products on time
  • Collaborating with fellow engineers and technicians to provide subject matter expertise
  • Providing technical input to optimize electro-mechanical systems for safety, durability, reliability, and cost
  • Supporting continuous improvement and efficiency optimization studies
  • Conducting and supporting design reviews on-site and at customer locations
  • Performing and documenting calculations for design and new product development
  • Developing drawings, schematics, and diagrams in accordance with applicable standards
  • Creating and maintaining BOMs
  • Supporting Purchasing in developing purchased parts specifications
  • Supporting Sales in developing cost estimates and quotations
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Preferred Attributes:

Experience with FEA simulation tools related to product design and/or electro-mechanical systems

Experience performing kinematic studies and motion simulation

Experience performing tolerance stacks and analyzing results

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products

Familiarity with program management, time management, planning, and scheduling

Familiarity with Quality Management systems (ISO-9001, TS-16949, etc)

Experience with GD&T and component inspection methodology
