Maintenance Engineering Supervisor

As the Maintenance Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing the daily activities of a team consisting of millwrights, electricians, and mechanics. Your main focus will be on promoting safety, quality, and reliability in maintenance practices. Additionally, you will lead team meetings and trainings, identify and address issues related to safety, environmental concerns, production, and quality, coordinate activities with production teams to enhance productivity and minimize cost, and proactively handle reliability concerns. It will be your responsibility to resolve employee issues, foster teamwork, and ensure compliance with all site policies and procedures.

Key Functions

  • Collaborate with the team to proactively identify safety issues and take necessary measures to address them
  • Supervise maintenance activities to promote safe, efficient, and high-quality work completion
  • Utilize predictive and preventive maintenance systems to minimize unscheduled downtime
  • Troubleshoot issues efficiently to meet volume and quality goals
  • Implement training processes to enhance the team's technical skills
  • Effectively utilize computer-based programs to prioritize maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and delegate maintenance resources

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance supervisory role within an industrial environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, hold them accountable, and achieve department metrics and goals
  • Experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives
  • Proficient in hydraulics, air systems, mechanical drives, mechanical components, installation methods, troubleshooting and repair techniques, welding, and basic industrial electrical
  • Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance methods
  • Ability to identify root causes of problems and initiate immediate corrective actions
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
  • Strong coaching and development skills to maintain positive relationships with all associates
  • Effective planning and organizational abilities
  • Strong work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making skills
  • A record of leadership, positive influence, and accomplishments in safety, environmental initiatives, quality, productivity, and people development
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs, as well as internet skills
  • Demonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business goals
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Planning software such as SAP
