The role makes use of an industry-specific, internet-based engineering software that automates the entire sales application engineering process. Through this software, customers can easily input their data and receive quotes, proposals, and follow-ups automatically. This allows the Sales Application Engineers to focus on providing tailored solutions to meet customer needs. The software enables potential customers to receive quotes and proposals in as little as fifteen minutes. Travel is not required for this position. The main responsibilities and duties include:
- Spending 30% of the time on the phone
- Applying engineering knowledge to company products
- Investigating and addressing customer needs
- Solving customer problems
- Utilizing the software throughout the sales process
- Analyzing and presenting appropriate alternative proposals to sales professionals
- Communicating via telephone, email, and virtual platforms
Experience in combustion would be beneficial. The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in engineering
- Five or more years of mechanical engineering experience
- Enjoyment of speaking to customers on the phone is crucial
- A strong mechanical aptitude
- At least two years of experience in industrial sales
- A solid work history
- Must be a US citizen or a Green Card holder
- Reside within a 45-minute drive of the Richfield, Wisconsin area
