Mechanical Systems Design Engineer / Project Manager
Location: Cressona, PA
Salary: $75,000 to $100,000 + SIGNING BONUS + Full Benefits
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Design Engineer / Project Manager to provide expertise in hydraulic and machine design for assigned projects. In this role, you will be responsible for equipment design and upgrades, material and service specifications, installation supervision, and troubleshooting. You will also lead project teams and collaborate with contractors and the plant maintenance team to ensure equipment functionality and reliability. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 5 years of engineering experience.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- PE License or (EIT/EI) preferred.
- At least 3 years of project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, heavy industrial preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, offering alternate solutions and providing cost estimates.
- Develop project scope, design drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure project compliance with regulatory codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineering resources, equipment suppliers, and construction contractors to complete projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Perform engineering tasks such as problem-solving, design calculations, equipment and contractor selection, and cost control.
- Provide engineering assistance to maintenance and manufacturing departments.
- Communicate project schedules and status to relevant parties.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- At least 3 years of project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, heavy industrial preferred.
- PE license or EIT/EI preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL Server management via SQL Server Management Studio.
- Experience in developing and deploying SCADA systems, such as Rockwell FactoryTalk.
- Ability to interface with PLCs, create data tags, and collect data.
- Knowledge of extrusion processes, equipment, cast house operations, or automotive component manufacturing.
- Collaboration with controls engineers and PLC technicians to provide integrated, functional solutions.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and proven project management skills.
