Evening MRI Technologist

Location: White Plains, NY

Join a highly regarded hospital in White Plains, NY as an Evening MRI Technologist in a full-time position

Schedule:

  • Wednesday - Sunday: 3pm - 11pm, including holidays
  • Tuesday - Saturday: 3pm - 11pm

This role involves performing routine and specialized imaging procedures. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, assisting radiologists when needed, operating and maintaining equipment, and adhering to established standards of care. The MRI Technologist will also pursue continuing education opportunities and take responsibility for their assigned area and duties. In addition, they will prioritize customer service and may be involved in quality assurance activities. This role requires exercising professional judgment and providing patient care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include:

  1. Understanding and adhering to performance standards, policies, and behaviors
  2. Preparing and positioning patients correctly for specific examinations, following protocols and documenting required information
  3. Taking responsibility for designated areas/procedures and producing high-quality images
  4. Assisting physicians during procedures
  5. Performing quality assurance and calibrations as needed
  6. Being available for emergency procedures or departmental situations
  7. Maintaining cleanliness of areas, equipment, and accessories and reporting malfunctions
  8. Printing patient CDs when necessary
  9. Performing routine office duties, such as answering phones, checking reports/films, and utilizing relevant systems
  10. Notifying front desk staff upon exam completion
  11. Showcasing images to radiologists, calling reports to attending physicians, and documenting communication if required
  12. Potential assignments as an instructor or preceptor
  13. Introducing and educating patients and their families about ordered examinations
  14. Adapting care provision to different age groups (pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric)
  15. Attending staff meetings and in-services
  16. Completing any other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Must have graduated from an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program
  • Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT), ARMRIT and ARRT MR certification within 1 year of hire
  • Continuing education requirements must be met (24 ECE credits over a two-year period)
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required, or completion within 90 days of hire
  • IV certification preferred, or completion of a 6-month orientation
  • Must possess yearly MRI safety certification level 2
