Municipal Water & Wastewater Rainmaker - Account Manager
Location: Atlanta
As the Account Director, you will be responsible for developing client relationships and promoting our company's services to federal, state, municipal, county, and water district/river authority clients in the Georgia region. You will work closely with clients to identify and pursue new projects and opportunities. This role involves strategic sales planning and collaboration with operational teams. Approximately 75% of your time will be focused on external sales, while the remaining 25% will be dedicated to internal sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships as the main point of contact for clients.
- Interact with clients through various communication channels such as email, social media, phone, and in-person meetings.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and new business development opportunities.
- Assist in implementing business development strategies.
- Cultivate relationships with strategic and key client accounts.
- Participate in client events, meetings, and conferences.
- Oversee the preparation of presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Deliver business development presentations and trainings.
- Supervise identified Business Development staff, if applicable.
- Execute the Strategic and Key Account Program.
- Coordinate with accounting to report on financial metrics.
- Identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
- Represent the company in industry organizations and leadership roles.
- Develop teaming strategies to maximize market potential.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of sales or industry business development experience, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, urban planning, engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with municipalities and local government entities.
- Strong ability to navigate the procurement process, write proposals, advocate for clients, and build relationships with decision makers.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong business acumen.
- Knowledge of alternative project delivery methods such as Design-Build and Construction Manager at Risk.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous knowledge of CRM system Cosential.
