Network & Information Security Administrator
Location: Charleston, SC - on site 5 days - Must be a US citizen or current green card holder.
A company in North America that specializes in manufacturing is seeking an experienced network administrator who is interested in expanding into Information Security. This role involves supporting the company's network infrastructure (WAN/LAN) and managing day-to-day Information Security operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the company's Managed Security Services Provider to evaluate and implement new policies, tools, and solutions to ensure a safe environment.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for network troubleshooting
- Analyze and investigate events from Managed Security Services Provider, vendors, and internal tools
- Document standard operating procedures for day-to-day Information Security operations
- Create a roadmap and implementation plan aligned with CIS controls
- Monitor emerging threats and assess potential impact to the company
- Participate in vulnerability detection and remediation efforts across the enterprise
- Assist in evaluating and deploying new security solutions
- Develop key Information Security performance reports for senior management
- Develop metrics and documentation for systems and processes
- Create Incident Response (IR) plans and playbooks, and assist with incident response activities
- Review and recommend system-level patching for current vulnerabilities
- Manage firewalls, switches, VPNs, and network security tools
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices across the organization
- Stay up to date with the latest security trends and threats
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity
- 5-8 years of networking experience, including working with Cisco or Fortinet equipment
- Strong understanding of Information Security practices
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and security practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (M365) technology and security features
- Familiarity with CIS Critical Security Controls or similar frameworks
- Knowledge of Anti-Virus, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and OSI model
- Understanding of Windows Active Directory and Group Policy management
