Night Operations Manager

Location: Covington, KY

We have formed a collaboration with a leading Printing Company in Florence KY to conduct a search for their Night Shift Printing Supervisor.

Night Shift Printing Supervisor (job description)

This is a nighttime shift lasting 12 hours (7:00pm to 7:00am) with a 2-2-3 shift pattern. You would be working approximately 15 days per month.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Accountable for the department's day-to-day operations during the shift

· In charge of Safety, Product Quality, Material Waste, and Labor.

· Also involved in Strategic Planning, Budgeting, Capital Investment, and Organizational Development

Preferred Experience:

· Operating an 8-color flexographic wide web printing press.

· Working with a 7.5-ton overhead crane.

· Handling a core baler.

· Utilizing safety knife and basic hand tools.

Main Duties:

· Running and overseeing department operations. Directing and leading the team to achieve objectives: 25 people report to this role.

· Responsible for operating costs on the shift.

· Supervising associates and adhering to the organization's policies and relevant laws

· Managing and implementing safety initiatives

· Ensuring compliance with quality standards

· Creating a culture that encourages participation, innovation, and process improvement. Fostering a sense of commitment and teamwork

· Developing and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers

· Promoting a culture of openness, honesty, and integrity through effective associate relations and communication practices

Key Performance Metrics:

  • Spoilage
  • Labor
  • Safety
  • Operating Budget
  • CCN (Target – internal / external)
  • Inventory (accuracy > 99%)
  • Review each of the above as information made available (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
  • Develop action plans to improve moving forward.
