What we're seeking:
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Kansas state license.
- Associate degree of nursing (ADN) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Hours and compensation:
- Full-time positions available, working three nights a week from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. Rotating weekends and holidays are part of the schedule.
- Competitive salary range of $30 to $49 per hour, commensurate with years of experience. BSN degree holders receive an additional bump in pay. Evening shift differential is $2.00 per hour, while night shift receives $2.50 per hour and weekends is $2.70 per hour.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including sign-on/relocation bonuses of $5,000 for a 1-year commitment or $10,000 for a 2-year commitment. Additionally, we offer $5,000 per year in tuition reimbursement.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide general nursing care to patients in a hospital healthcare facility according to the assigned duties.
- Utilize AIDET to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, staff, and other departments.
- Greet visitors and assist them in reaching their destinations.
- Coordinate with the Charge Nurse to obtain appropriate patient assignments, including obtaining off-going RN or LPN bedside reports and a unit telephone.
- Update and maintain the patient's White Communication board.
- Conduct head-to-toe assessments on assigned patients and document in the electronic chart in real-time.
- Monitor patients throughout the shift, document any changes, and notify providers as necessary. Keep the Charge Nurse or House Supervisor informed of any patient changes. Monitor telemetry and keep the SCU updated on any patient changes. Monitor lab results and test results.
- Perform hourly rounding, coordinate with assistive staff, document as required, and provide patient education.
- Administer prescribed medications using approved nursing techniques and the Med/Verify system.
- Administer treatments as directed by physicians and following nursing standards and policies.
- Educate patients and families throughout the shift and document the education in the electronic flow chart.
Additional information:
Our facility is an acute care hospital with less than 50 beds and operates as a non-profit organization. The target nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1, but it is likely to be 3-4:1 until the census grows. Depending on the patient census, there may be another nurse or CNA working alongside you.
