What they are seeking:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Preferably, two to three years of previous management experience and a minimum of three years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  • Hold an active Iowa RN License and current BCLS certification.
Hours and potential compensation:
  • Two positions available: one for 7am-7pm and one for 7pm-7am.
  • The salary range is between $63K and $84K.
  • Full benefits package offered, including up to a $25K sign-on bonus.
What you will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing the management of nursing personnel, including leading, coaching, facilitating, and providing counsel and direction.
  • Ensuring that the Nursing/House Supervisor is visible, accessible, and actively engaged in supporting staff on a daily basis.
  • Participating actively in QA/PI projects to meet regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitating the scheduling process and adjusting schedules to meet the hospital's needs.
  • Providing fair and consistent leadership to all departments.
  • Conveying QI, risk, and safety concerns to the Director of the department and quality department.
  • Completing variance reports or statements of concern appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Participating in Individualized Patient Care by ensuring that whiteboards and other patient satisfaction criteria are being used.
  • Notifying staff of emergency call-in situations.
  • Operating within the established hospital procedures during emergencies, using the hospital's emergency plan, HICs, and NIMS when appropriate.
  • Communicating clearly and positively with co-workers and promoting teamwork.
  • Acting as a resource to solve problems.
  • Being an ambassador for the health center by speaking positively in the presence of patients and community members.

Additional information:
  • Facility has over 200 beds.
  • Position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and these positions are newly created.
