What the ideal candidate possesses:
•Completion of a basic Operating Room Technician Program. Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST).
•Completion of Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level within three (3) months of being hired.
•Preference given to candidates with one year of general surgical experience.
Working hours and potential compensation:
•This is a full-time position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 6:45am-5:15pm, with rotating on-call duties.
•Compensation ranges from $29.50/hr to $45.50/hr, depending on experience.
•A comprehensive benefits package is provided, including up to $5,000 in relocation assistance.
Responsibilities of the role:
•This role entails performing the duties of an Operating Room Technician in collaboration with the Operating Room Registered Nurse.
•The OR Tech must adhere to the AORN Standards of Practice, manage supplies and equipment under the guidance of the Operating Room Registered Nurse, and foster teamwork with physicians and personnel from other departments.
•The OR Tech must possess a thorough understanding of the purpose and operation of Perioperative Services, and exhibit sound judgment when making decisions in critical situations.
•Demonstrate knowledge of the location, care, and proper use of all equipment and supplies related to the Operating Room.
•Maintaining a sterile field at all times.
•Performing room turnovers. Assisting with instrument turnover and cleaning instruments as time allows.
•Changing bed linens on patient stretchers, as needed, while the patient is in the Operating Room.
•Assisting with weekly and monthly housekeeping tasks, including regular refrigerator defrosting.
•Assisting perioperative staff with patient transfers and managing restless patients.
•Planning for necessary tasks and equipment related to each surgical case.
•Performing all other duties of an OR Tech.

•This position reports to the Director of Surgical Services.
