Legal Assistant
Our client is an Elder Law and Estate Planning law firm. They are currently looking to hire an experienced paralegal as a Legal Assistant for one of their offices in either Nassau or Suffolk County, New York. This is a full-time position based in the office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide comprehensive support for the attorneys' business needs
· Review and summarize client Estate Plans
· Manage and organize client information and records
· Communicate with clients
· Assist in the drafting and reviewing of legal documents
· Provide general support to supervising attorneys
MAIN REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be proactive with a strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills, with a focus on client follow-through
· Team player who is genuinely interested in working in a supportive and collaborative environment
· Must have 3-5 years of experience as a legal assistant. Prior experience in Estate Planning and Elder Care is an advantage
· Experience with e-filing matters on NYSCEF
· Proficient in drafting excel spreadsheets
· Attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
· Collaborative with a positive attitude, able to perform well under pressure
· Comfortable working with professionals at all levels, including senior management and colleagues from various departments
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
