Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applicants must possess at least an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle is mandatory.
  • Candidates must have at least 2 years of leadership and/or management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, as well as other web-based platforms, is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively interpret, communicate, and educate others.
  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level certification must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.

Working Hours and Compensation:

  • This is a full-time position.
  • The salary range starts at $75,000 and commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • The Patient Access Manager plays a pivotal role in establishing an efficient registration process that prioritizes accurate data collection and a patient-centric mindset among staff. This entails overseeing and coordinating various patient access operations, including scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, financial clearance, and registration for both outpatient and inpatient services.
  • This position strives to implement emerging best practices to enhance front-end efficiency and improve the patient experience. By collaborating with leadership, goals, priorities, and performance standards are established. Working closely with other operational departments and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of patient demographic and insurance information, the Patient Access Manager supports a cohesive and streamlined revenue cycle.
  • The Patient Access Manager upholds an unwavering standard of excellence, serving as a benchmark for departmental work.
  • This role collaborates with hospital Case Management, Scheduling, Utilization Review, Health Information Management, Patient Financial Services, Referral/Prior Authorization, Hospital/Clinic Operations, and clinical service departments to ensure efficient patient access operations across all levels.
  • The individual in this position must possess comprehensive knowledge of the hospital's Revenue Cycle and the ability to make informed decisions based on sound judgment during critical situations.

Additional Information:

  • This position reports to the Patient Financial Services Director.
  • The role involves working in a team environment and overseeing 13-15 direct reports.
