PEO Benefits Specialist

Location: Santa Ana, CA

The position of PEO Benefits Specialist is available in Santa Ana, CA. The individual in this role will be responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the master benefit programs with Optimum. These programs include group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), voluntary programs, and employee assistance programs.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Setting up new benefit plans for clients
  • Processing enrollments for various medical, dental, vision, and supplemental plans
  • Enrolling employees for benefits based on qualifying life events
  • Entering employee benefit information into the HRIS database
  • Recording HSA contributions in the benefit software
  • Updating benefit forms annually
  • Conducting benefits orientation during open enrollment and client renewal
  • Responding promptly to employee inquiries and resolving complaints efficiently
  • Assisting with the enrollment of newly eligible employees
  • Serving as a liaison between clients and benefit overview/plan amendments
  • Providing information and documents related to health and welfare benefits
  • Distributing materials such as summaries of plan descriptions and benefit pricing
  • Updating employee payroll records for benefit reconciliations as required
  • Preparing for yearly electronic open enrollment for Optimum master medical plan
  • Planning for Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance for clients
