What we're looking for:
• Must be currently registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio or eligible for registration.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is required.
Hours and compensation:
• Full-time positions available, with options for 32 or 40 hours per week and weekend rotations. Opportunities exist in retail, home infusion, and hospital settings.
• Salary range of $36,500 to $51,500, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting pharmacists in all aspects of drug preparation and distribution, including unit-of-use packaging, maintaining automated floor stock, inspecting units, replenishing drug boxes and crash carts, and utilizing computer applications to support pharmaceutical care programs.
• For Pharmacy Tech position:
- Efficiently and accurately preparing patient-specific drug orders for pharmacist review and dispensing.
- Conducting interviews with patients and their families to document current medications.
- Performing quality checks on work completed by pharmacy technicians or support staff to streamline distribution functions and free up professional staff for clinical support.
- Restocking drug boxes and crash carts from various patient care areas.
- Assisting in providing educational in-service programs on distribution and automation systems to share the latest technology with healthcare providers.
- Assisting in inventory management and working with purchasing staff to minimize stock outages and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• For Chemo IV Tech position:
- Monitoring and documenting daily environmental controls in accordance with USP 797 and USP 800 regulations.
- Ensuring proper daily cleaning of IV ante and clean rooms.
- Supervising environmental service personnel for monthly terminal cleaning of IV ante and clean rooms.
- Participating in routine surface sampling as required by USP 797 and USP 800.
- Maintaining knowledge of HEPA filtered unidirectional airflow principles and their impact on compounding areas.
- Completing annual competency assessments related to IV and chemotherapy compounding.
