Qualifications:
• Must be a currently registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio.
• Must possess Pharmacy Technician Certification from PTCB(CphT) or NHA(ExCPT).
Working Hours and Compensation:
• This is a full-time position. The schedule may consist of one week of four 10-hour shifts starting at either 8am or 9am, primarily working in the main pharmacy. The following week may entail three 12-hour shifts and primarily handling Med Rec. One weekend shift is required per month, from 9am to 7:30pm.
• Compensation ranges from $37,500 to $50,000, depending on experience. A comprehensive benefits package is also provided.
Responsibilities:
• Assist pharmacists in safely and efficiently providing medications to patients and patient care areas.
• Participate in all aspects of drug preparation and distribution.
• Understand the specific needs of various patient populations, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Monitor and manage clerical duties within the department.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures, unit dose formulations, and compounded medications using aseptic technique.
• Obtain medication histories and patient allergies from relevant sources for new patients in the Emergency Department, and record this information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Communicate directly with pharmacists regarding patients with complex or high-risk medications.
• Enter charges and credits on patient accounts.
• Order, receive, and stock pharmacy medications accurately and in a timely manner.
• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, regulatory and accrediting body requirements, and professional practice standards.
