Qualifications:
• Must be currently registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio.
• Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is mandatory.
Hours and Compensation:
• This position is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week. You will work four 10-hour days, starting either at 8am or 9am, with one weekend shift per month from 9am-7:30pm.
• Compensation ranges between $37,500 and $50,000 annually, depending on experience. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
Responsibilities:
• Assist pharmacists in the safe, efficient, and timely provision of medications to patients and patient care areas.
• Participate in all aspects of drug preparation and distribution.
• Understand the specific requirements of patients across different age groups, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Perform clerical duties within the department and ensure their maintenance.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures, unit dose formulations, and compounded medications using aseptic technique.
• Gather medication histories and patient allergies from relevant sources for new patients entering the Emergency Department, and input this information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Directly communicate with pharmacists regarding patients on complex/high-risk medications.
• Record charges and credits on patient accounts.
• Timely and accurately order, receive, and stock pharmacy medications.
• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, regulatory/accrediting body requirements, and professional practice standards.
