Qualifications:
• Must hold a current Certified Pharmacy Technician registration in the State of Ohio or be eligible for the same.
• Must possess Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification.
Working hours and compensation:
• Multiple positions available in hospital, outpatient, and home infusion settings. Choose between 32-hour and 40-hour workweeks, which may include weekend rotations.
• Compensation ranges from $17.50 per hour to $24.72 per hour, based on experience. A comprehensive benefits package is also provided.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting pharmacists with various tasks, such as drug preparation and distribution, unit-of-use packaging, automated floor stock management (PYXIS), unit inspection completion, drug box and crash cart maintenance, and utilization of computer applications for pharmaceutical care.
• Specific responsibilities as a Pharmacy Technician:
- Efficiently and accurately preparing patient-specific drug orders for final checks by pharmacists.
- Conducting interviews with patients and their families to determine their current medications.
- Performing quality checks on work completed by other pharmacy technicians or support personnel, allowing professional staff more time to provide clinical support.
- Restocking drug boxes and crash carts from various patient care areas within the hospital.
- Assisting in delivering educational in-service programs on distribution and automation systems to healthcare providers, in order to share the latest technologies.
- Assisting in inventory management to minimize stock outages and maintain appropriate levels of pharmaceuticals.
• Specific responsibilities as a Chemo IV Technician:
- Ensuring daily surveillance and documentation of USP 797 and USP 800 environmental controls.
- Completing necessary daily cleaning of the IV ante and clean rooms.
- Supervising environmental service personnel for monthly terminal cleaning of the IV ante and clean rooms.
- Participating in routine surface sampling as mandated by regulations such as USP 797 and USP 800.
- Maintaining thorough knowledge of HEPA filtered unidirectional airflow principles and their impact on the compounding area.
- Completing annual competence assessments related to IV and chemotherapy compounding.
