Qualifications:
• Must be currently registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio or eligible.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is a requirement.
Working hours and compensation:
• Multiple positions available in hospital, outpatient, and home infusion settings. Both 32-hour and 40-hour work weeks are available, with weekend rotations required.
• Compensation ranges from $17.50 per hour to $24.72 per hour, depending on experience. Full benefit package is included.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting the pharmacist in all aspects of drug preparation and distribution, including unit-of-use packaging, automated floor stock maintenance (PYXIS), unit inspection completion, drug box and crash cart replenishment and maintenance, and computer applications to support the overall pharmaceutical care program.
• Specific to the Pharmacy Technician position:
- Efficiently and accurately preparing patient-specific drug orders for final checks by the pharmacist.
- Conducting patient/family interviews to determine the medications currently being taken by patients.
- Conducting certain checks on work completed by pharmacy technicians or support personnel to expedite distribution functions and free professional staff for clinical support.
- Ensuring drug boxes and crash carts are replenished from various patient care areas in the hospital.
- Assisting in providing educational in-service programs on distribution and automation systems to share the latest technology with care providers.
- Assisting in inventory management of pharmaceuticals, working with purchasing staff to minimize stock outages and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Conducting patient/family interviews to determine the medications currently being taken by patients.

• Specific to the Chemo IV Tech position:
- Responsible for daily surveillance and documentation of USP 797 and USP 800 environmental controls.
- Ensuring completion of daily required cleaning of the IV ante and clean rooms.
- Supervising environmental service personnel for monthly IV ante and clean room terminal cleaning.
- Participating in and completing routine surface sampling as required by USP 797 and USP 800 regulations.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of the principles of HEPA filtered unidirectional airflow and its effects on the compounding area.
- Completing annual competency assessments related to IV and chemotherapy compounding.
- Ensuring completion of daily required cleaning of the IV ante and clean rooms.
- Supervising environmental service personnel for monthly IV ante and clean room terminal cleaning.
- Participating in and completing routine surface sampling as required by USP 797 and USP 800 regulations.
