Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA - Full Time

A Physical Therapist Assistant carries out selected aspects of care and interventions proficiently. They educate and advise patients on exercises, identify their individual needs, and provide compassionate and understanding care. Additionally, they contribute to treatment planning, document patient progress, and stay informed about the latest advancements in the field. Ultimately, they play a vital role in assisting patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.

The Physical Therapist Assistant assists patients in executing their treatment plan and engaging in therapeutic activities by administering manual physical exercises. They provide guidance, encouragement, and support to patients in non-manual exercises, functional activities, and daily living tasks, while also providing assistive and compassionate care. The PTA evaluates and interprets evaluations and test results, collaborates with physicians to determine physical therapy treatment plans, and meticulously documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records in accordance with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements. They also remain updated on existing and new legislation, anticipate future legislation, ensure adherence to requirements, and provide management with necessary recommendations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting follow-up visits for orthopedic patients receiving home health care
  • Continuing to meet eligibility requirements for home health services
  • Assisting patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses
  • Providing instruction and guidance to patients, including therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, as well as adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Monitoring current treatment trends and ensuring actual physical therapy services align with production objectives
  • Driving is a necessary requirement for this role

  • Completion of an accredited Assistant Therapy Assistant Program

  • Must possess in-state licensure

  • At least 1 year of experience as a physical therapist Assistant in home health

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a caring disposition

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
