Environmental Sustainability Manager

We are currently hiring for the position of Environmental Sustainability Manager in the southeast region of Ohio near Huntington, WV. As the Environmental Sustainability Manager, your primary responsibility will be implementing and overseeing environmental programs and policies for our site. You will ensure compliance with government regulations, specifically the EPA, conduct employee training, handle emergencies and incident investigations, and provide technical guidance on environmental issues. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing mandatory government reports.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the plant team on environmental and regulatory matters, and actively participate in incident investigations and root cause failure analysis.
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field of study.
- Have a minimum of 4 years of work experience in analyzing environmental regulations within industries such as mining, construction, manufacturing, or related fields.
- Possess experience with Title V air permitting.
- Previous involvement with consent decrees is highly desirable.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills and a proven track record of fostering a culture of safety and environmental compliance. Demonstrate the ability to provide support to operations and maintenance teams and collaborate effectively to find solutions to challenges.
- Possess detailed knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations and permits, including CAA, CWA, RCRA, DOT, EPCRA, and TRI, among others.
- Additional certifications such as EPA Opacity Reading, DOT Certification, HAZWOPER certification, and ISO 14001 are advantageous.
