Plant Equipment Engineer

We are currently seeking a talented Plant Equipment Engineer to join our client's team at their location in Lafayette, IN. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our advanced chemical manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage capital projects, ranging from small-scale improvements (less than $50K) to major initiatives (over $1M), focusing on safety, reliability, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ASME, NFPA, PSM, and EPA RMP regulations by serving as a key resource for interpretation and implementation.
  • Oversee process safety efforts, including Management of Change (MOC) processes and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), to embed safety in every change.
  • Strengthen our safety culture by conducting audits, leading incident investigations, and delivering training programs to promote best practices across the facility.
  • Provide technical expertise in pressure vessel repair, tank maintenance, machine guarding, and interpretation of RAGAGEP standards.
  • Mentor and develop team members by offering guidance and support, empowering them with the skills and knowledge to uphold safety and engineering excellence.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Industry knowledge: Experience in Chemical Process Safety or Combustible Dust environments is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives from start to finish.
  • Technical acumen in chemical unit operations, Process Safety Management (PSM), and key safety standards such as OSHA, NFPA, ASME, and API.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and regulatory compliance is a plus.
