- The role of Operations Engineer involves project management and support, collaborating closely with the Maintenance Department.
- While the title is Operations Engineer, the position is more like a Safety & Reliability Engineer who also oversees LEAN, 5S, and similar processes.
The Operations Engineer will be in charge of optimizing plant efficiency and operational utilization, working in partnership with maintenance teams to ensure safety and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Develop work measurement programs and assess work samples to establish standards for labor utilization.
- Create standardized work instructions as needed.
- Provide support to manufacturing operations as required.
- Analyze operational data, organizational structures, and project details to identify areas for improvement and efficiency within the team.
- Recommend strategies to enhance team efficiency, reduce material waste, and maximize equipment utilization.
- Collaborate with management and engineering to implement improvements.
- Monitor plant equipment and systems, initiating and executing projects to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree from a college or technical school is preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles such as Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, and TPS (Toyota Production Systems).
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in writing reports, correspondence, and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of Office applications including Word, Excel, and Internet software.
