Indirect Supplier Manager

Indirect Procurement Contractor – Strategic Sourcing

Overview:
As a member of the procurement team, the Indirect Supplier Manager will be responsible for leading strategic sourcing and category management efforts, predominantly focused on Corporate Services. This role will also include overseeing spend in areas such as IT, Corporate Services, and MRO. The successful candidate will drive sourcing initiatives, enhance supplier performance, and contribute to cost savings across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute multi-year sourcing strategies for assigned spend categories.

  • Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives with input from end users and stakeholders across the business.

  • Review and analyze spend to identify opportunities to expand supplier diversity, with a focus on local and regional vendors.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to understand both immediate and long-term business needs, developing a strategic project pipeline accordingly.

  • Act as a key advisor to internal stakeholders, positioning procurement as a value-driving partner in third-party spend management.

  • Achieve measurable reductions in total cost of ownership across assigned categories.

  • Manage full-cycle RFP processes through to contract award.

  • Oversee supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, implementation, and ongoing compliance and performance tracking.

  • Review supplier scorecards and key operational metrics to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Utilize e-sourcing and spend analysis tools to identify and deliver annual savings.

  • Provide industry benchmarking to inform procurement strategies and decisions.

  • Identify and implement sourcing process enhancements to improve operational efficiency.

Scope & Decision-Making:
This role involves managing key deliverables and timelines autonomously, with moderate to complex assignments that require prior experience and analytical problem-solving. The individual will operate with a strong foundation of category knowledge and make increasingly independent decisions, seeking leadership guidance on high-level matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in sourcing services and/or materials.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • In-depth understanding of contractual terms and conditions.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence internal stakeholders.

  • Comfortable working within a large, matrixed organization.

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities.

  • Track record of successfully implementing category strategies over multiple years.

  • Highly analytical, with strong project and change management experience.

  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated success in increasing supplier diversity and inclusion.

  • Experience with Maximo or similar ERP systems highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with Power Advocate or similar e-sourcing/spend analysis platforms is a plus.
