Job Title: Night Shift Production Manager
Location: Norfolk, NE
Salary: $70-85K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Night Shift Production Manager: The Night Shift Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations to achieve business objectives, including managing daily production, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring sanitation standards, and assisting with the implementation of safety programs. This role also involves overseeing a team of Production Supervisors.
Job Responsibilities of the Night Shift Production Manager:
- Develop and implement manufacturing plans and programs to achieve cost and output goals.
- Coordinate activities across all manufacturing functional areas to align with plant goals.
- Create standard operating procedures for production processes.
- Ensure production capacity meets sales volume requirements, developing contingency plans when necessary.
- Track and manage the annual operating budget to achieve objectives.
- Maintain and improve the quality of plant assets.
- Develop and enhance technical and manufacturing management skills.
- Establish performance standards for supervisors and maintain job descriptions and improvement plans.
- Create appropriate scheduling and employee work schedules aligned with customer orders and plant requirements.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to establish quality specifications for raw materials and monitor compliance.
- Work with Quality/R&D teams to develop and improve products and processes, conducting and reporting on experimental and test runs.
- Manage inventory of off-spec materials and oversee reworking as needed.
- Maintain formulation data system, including entering new product formulations.
Education & Experience of the Night Shift Production Manager:
- 5-7 years of previous management experience in a food grade operation.
- Background in dairy, evaporators, and/or drying technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of plant operation procedures and business system software applications.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to work a night shift schedule of 6pm-6am, 2-2-3 schedule
