Full job description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lead Designer in Electrical and Instrumentation. This position reports directly to the Site Engineering Manager and offers full-time employment. The Lead Designer is responsible for improving all aspects of managing electrical and instrument systems for the construction site.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Solving complex Electrical and Instrumentation problems through design, redesign, application, and maintenance techniques
- Working with a variety of instrumentation devices such as transmitters, controllers, transducers, valves, and switches
- Performing E/I loop checks, calibrations, and interlock testing
- Serving as the main point of contact for new equipment design and commissioning during and outside of working hours
- Developing guidelines, procedures, standards, and documentation methods for E&I process improvement
- Providing troubleshooting flow charts and standard works to improve efficiency
- Leading and coordinating troubleshooting and problem-solving of E&I related issues
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to solve maintenance and mechanical issues related to E&I systems
- Managing E&I capital projects and engineering process improvements to enhance manufacturing
- Implementing process control enhancements using various software tools
- Conducting equipment inspections, assessments, and repairs to uphold electrical integrity
- Supporting MOC program for site database changes
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCad, E&I Design Software, DCS/Controls/Programming
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and autonomously
- Efficiency and effectiveness in high-stress, high-pressure environments
- Willingness to take the lead in process development and improvement
- Strong interpersonal, detail orientation, and organization skills
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills
