Highway Project Engineer - Tampa, FL
The Project Engineer will provide support to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent, focusing on goal setting, planning, communication, organization, implementation, and tracking. This position will require field work approximately 20% - 30% of the time.
Required Experience:
- Medium to large heavy civil, roadway, and bridge project experience ($30M+)
Regular Job Duties:
- Acquire, organize, review, and distribute project submittals and RFIs
- Maintain plan drawings and revisions, and create all necessary project logs
- Perform material take-offs and communicate with owner and client representatives
- Calculate pricing and issue contracts and purchase orders for subcontractors and suppliers
- Schedule subcontractor work and supplier material deliveries
- Maintain a highly organized work area and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Write reports, business correspondence, and project documents
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management (CEM)
- Moderate to high level of proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Primavera 6
- Two or more years of relevant experience in the civil construction field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Highly motivated and dedicated to completing tasks accurately and efficiently
- Proficient verbal communication and technical writing skills
- Display of progressive leadership skills
- Ability to work with a diverse team from various backgrounds
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
