Roadway Project Engineer

Position: Roadway Construction Project Engineer
Location: Sarasota, FL
Seeking an individual to provide essential support to the project team in managing administrative and technical tasks for the successful execution of roadway construction projects. Collaborate effectively with the Project Manager, Project Superintendent, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of contracts and project specifications.
- Offer assistance to the Project Manager and Superintendent as required.
- Assist in the development and updating of project schedules.
- Monitor project costs and quantities, and contribute to cost forecasting.
- Obtain pricing from subcontractors/vendors, including for change orders.
- Coordinate the delivery of equipment and materials.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce to address project challenges.
- Support monthly billing, cash flow projections, and change order processes.
- Manage document control, including submittals, contract documents, and record drawings.
- Verify the accuracy of daily reports (e.g., HeavyJob).
- Maintain technical submittal lists, NPDES permits, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, and project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with inspection, testing, utility coordination, and other notice requirements.
- Communicate any plan/specification changes to subcontractors and vendors.
- Assist with project closure activities.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Project Manager.

Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Construction Engineering and Management (CEM).
- Have 3–8 years of experience in civil construction, both in field and office roles.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Primavera P6.
