Job Title: Roadway Project Engineer
Position Overview:
We are in search of a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to provide support for Project Managers in overseeing one or multiple infrastructure projects. This position entails managing a variety of project elements, including cost tracking, budgeting, RFIs, submittals, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and field construction activities. The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are carried out proficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in all phases of project management, offering technical and functional support to field operations.
• Develop and evaluate project submittals and RFIs prior to submission to the owner.
• Analyze project plans and specifications, collaborating with the Project Manager to address project requirements, design changes, and field conditions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely, safe, and exceptional project deliverables.
• Track project progress, monitor quantities, and facilitate cost control and payment processes.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule, ensuring accurate timelines and activity sequences.
• Assist in designing and preparing temporary works, such as falsework, shoring, and formwork.
• Manage the procurement process and ensure the timely delivery of materials, aligning with project schedules.
• Ensure all work performed and documentation comply with contract specifications and quality standards.
• Develop comprehensive work plans to promote safety, efficiency, and successful project completion.
• Review and analyze shop drawings, as-builts, and related documents for accuracy and completeness before submission.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in Department of Transportation (DOT) projects or similar construction fields.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), BlueBeam, and CAD. Knowledge of P6 and HCSS is a bonus.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
