Salary: $120-150K plus bonus
Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Engineering Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing business and customer needs. As the hands-on Project Engineering/Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and the product development team to build prototypes, conduct tests, and travel to customer sites for inspections and commissioning activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent education
- 3-7 years of experience managing and leading a technical team
- Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE) in Nebraska, with ability to obtain reciprocity in other states
- Experience in technical review of specifications and large contract risk assessment
- Experience in design risk assessment, verification, and validation
- Ability to manage long project timelines and maintain productivity to meet milestones
- Experience in writing design standards
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software
- Understanding and experience with regulatory codes such as UL, CSA, NEC, and NFPA
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Critical thinking and focus on continuous improvement
- Willingness to travel 10% nationwide and internationally
Responsibilities:
- Manage a group of engineers and designers for project-specific engineering activities
- Allocate resources within the Project Engineering team and assess/monitor risks
- Review and approve technical documentation and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Ensure timely completion of large projects, custom-engineered solutions, and technical deliverables
- Coordinate with sales and project management teams to manage resource workloads
- Lead technical review of specifications and perform risk assessment for contracts
- Oversee the development and evaluation of custom-engineered solutions
- Establish design standards and support research and development activities
- Monitor department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and address issues
- Perform on-site inspections and support commissioning activities as needed
- Coordinate engineering activities with the Director of Engineering and other managers
- Supervise and provide performance reviews for a team of Engineers and Designers
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team
