The Role: Procurement Manager

Location: Montpelier, OH

The Procurement Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. They will be responsible for all aspects of Supply Chain Management, which includes supplier selection and development, managing material and service costs, and ensuring materials are delivered on time and meet acceptable quality standards. The Procurement Manager will collaborate with all departments at all levels to ensure their materials needs are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Purchasing policy and procedures to ensure compliance with Automotive Quality standards.
  • Establish department goals that lead to cost containment and improved supplier performance.
  • Identify and develop international suppliers to procure highest quality products at the lowest cost.
  • Ensure all suppliers meet or exceed company performance requirements.
  • Issue and maintain purchasing documents and records.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the Purchasing Department.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with company suppliers.
  • Conduct research on new sources of supply.
  • Keep updated on developments in procurement procedures, practices, commodity and market trends, and Supply Chain Management.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on new procurements or changes to existing purchase orders/contracts.
  • Ensure active purchase orders/contracts are complete and accurate at all times.
  • Participate in joint meetings with various departments to review item specifications, problem solve, and develop new products/programs.
  • Lead annual corporate-wide steel negotiations.
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers and the company.
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings between suppliers and necessary company personnel.
  • Review and evaluate product and service procurement requests.
  • Select reliable sources and evaluate quotations to make supplier selections.
  • Create purchase orders and long-term agreements that meet all requirements and comply with regulations and laws.
  • Promote customer focus, continuous improvement, and risk-based thinking throughout the department.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to other Procurement personnel.
  • Develop and implement overall purchasing strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Professional Certification by ISM and/or APICs
  • Minimum of 5 years of Purchasing and Materials Experience
  • Experience in Manufacturing
