Job Title: Quality Assurance Director – Dairy Manufacturing

Location: Norfolk, Nebraska

Salary: $100-160K

Job Summary of the Quality Assurance Director: The Quality Assurance Director is responsible for overseeing product safety, quality, and compliance at a dairy manufacturing plant in Norfolk, Nebraska. This includes developing and implementing a preventive quality system, ensuring compliance with specifications, training and developing operators, conducting quality testing, handling complaints, and communicating with sales and plant personnel.

Qualifications of the Quality Assurance Director:

  • Implement and monitor the Quality Assurance Program at the facility according to established policies and procedures.
  • Establish quality assurance specifications and ensure they are met for finished products, in-process testing, and ingredients.
  • Establish quality specifications for incoming raw materials and ensure they are met.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise QA personnel.
  • Prepare and manage the laboratory budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Research and analyze customer complaints promptly.
  • Assist with product and process development and test runs.
  • Manage inventory of off-spec materials and schedule reworking as needed.
  • Conduct audits as required.
  • Maintain and improve quality assurance lab data system reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory policies and practices.
  • Coordinate pest control services.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Director:

  • 10+ years of manufacturing QA management experience
  • Dairy experience required; familiarity with PMO (Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Life Science or related area
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and computer software applications
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Previous supervisory or management experience
