Quality Control Supervisor

Location: Cartersville, GA

Our client is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor for their manufacturing facility in Cartersville, GA. As an international manufacturer of stamped automotive products, the company requires a dedicated individual to ensure the quality of their products meets IATF 16949 standards. The Quality Control Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing a team of engineers, auditors, and technicians, and ensuring that all processes meet customer requirements. They will also be responsible for implementing corrective actions, conducting internal training, and establishing quality controls. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with occasional travel required.

Essential Functions

1. Coordinates all actions and activities to improve the quality management system and monitors implementation, with an ultimate goal of achieving "zero defects".

2. Provides support to necessary manufacturing operations.

3. Identifies quality issues and drives corrective actions to resolve them.

4. Implements root cause analysis and provides recommendations for corrective action.

5. Ensures customer quality documentation.

6. Establishes quality-related controls to track and measure critical processes within the plant.

7. Conducts internal training for quality.

8. Communicates customer requirements across the organization.

9. Oversees all aspects of quality assurance, including establishing metrics and developing new tools and processes.

10. Acts as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, coordinating resources internally and externally.

11. Schedules team members to ensure necessary production support.

12. Leads and mentors team members.

13. Verifies and validates countermeasures.

14. Collaborates with other QA staff to accomplish daily QA tasks on-time with high quality.

15. Follows all guidelines set forth in our 5s training.

16. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on company needs and skills level.


1. Automotive Quality standard (ISO/IATF 16949) knowledge and experience.

2. APQP knowledge and experience.

3. Experience in inspection of equipment and techniques.

4. Strong problem-solving skills.

5. Expertise in GD&T.

6. Proficiency in MS Office.

7. Experience with SAP ERP system.

8. Good material handling knowledge.

9. Experience performing audits (internal & external).

10. Reading of Engineering drawings.

11. Application of customer standards.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Quality Control Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of associates, including scheduling, monitoring, training, and discipline. They will oversee all team activities, such as sorting, production buy-offs, and tool trials.

Work Environment

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, occasional fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise levels. The employee must follow all safety guidelines and wear necessary personal protective equipment while on the shop floor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to handle objects. They will frequently walk, stoop, kneel, and occasionally climb. The employee must be able to lift and move objects of varying weights.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There may be additional hours required to meet customer demands, including weekends.


Occasional domestic and international travel may be required, particularly within a 200-mile radius of Cartersville, GA.

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering-related field.

2. 2+ years of prior supervisory/managerial experience.

3. Strong leadership experience.

4. Management experience with groups of 10+ associates.

5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Master's Degree in an Engineering-related field.

2. Experience with 3D modeling software (CATIA, Solidworks, etc.).

3. 5+ years of prior Quality experience in the Automotive Manufacturing industry.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a fast-paced automotive industry environment. Coaching, training, and communication skills are necessary. Ability to conduct meetings with medium to large groups and speak publicly is required.
