Job Description


The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the company's food safety and quality programs are maintained at our facility. This includes collaborating with various departments and implementing strategies to exceed our quality standards and meet customer expectations.

The QA Manager will also lead and develop the QA and Sanitation departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, implement, maintain, and monitor food safety and quality programs

Lead all audits, including GFSI Certification BRC and customer audits

Ensure prevention of foreign material contamination in the facility

Collaborate with other departments to maintain food safety and quality programs

Perform internal audits and follow up on corrective actions to ensure closure

Continuously improve quality systems against BRC standards

Provide immediate feedback on food safety and quality issues to management team

Act as the main contact for regulatory agencies and third-party auditors

Motivate and recognize employees to foster a strong food safety culture

Handle customer/consumer complaints and communicate them to the management team

Serve as the liaison for all customer communication and requests

Keep Regional Manager QA and Food Safety – Bakery Platform – Canada informed of any problems or concerns

Minimum Job Requirements:


Post-secondary education in food science, chemistry, or related fields

3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing

3-5 years of experience as a QA Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and GFSI principles and programs; BRC and HACCP certification is an asset

Excellent computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Statistical software)

Good understanding of Statistical Process Control in an industrial environment

Fast learner, able to multi-task, self-motivated, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy of information

Good written and verbal communication skills; preference given to bilingual candidates

Positive attitude and professional approach; effective communication and building relationships with plant employees

Ability to multi-task and work in an organized fashion with attention to detail and accuracy

Good understanding of production - plant and office procedures

Proven leader with strong leadership skills and a track record of developing teams
