Quality Assurance Manager
Position: Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Indianapolis, IN
The Quality Assurance Manager ensures that quality is an integral part of our operations and throughout the product life cycle. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the development, publication, and maintenance of procedures, processes, and programs that drive adherence to hygienic standards and best practices. A key aspect of this position is identifying measures of system effectiveness and ensuring their implementation and monitoring.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall quality system, including the development, deployment, and maintenance of the Quality Policy Manual and associated SOPs
- Lead and oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) process from research and development through operations
- Serve as the primary contact for customer audits, document requests, and routine communications, ensuring customer needs are met
- Manage the application of the Quality Monitoring Scheme (QMS) to document quality requirements for each product and ensure alignment with MSPEC throughout the manufacturing process
- Act as the customer-facing quality assurance contact, ensuring customer requirements are translated into the quality system and effectively communicated within the organization
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for the QA Department, including shelf-life monitoring and extensions for raw materials and finished products
- Manage document control, pest control, management of change, and KPI reporting
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or related field required
- 10+ years of experience in a cGMP environment
- Experience with manufacturing aseptic products and thermal processing
- Knowledge of system design and experience implementing sustainable programs
- Passionate about driving best-in-class quality and engineering systems
- Able to recognize process waste and lead improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools and preferably certified as a Belt or Black Belt
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
- Ensures quality by design from ideation through commercialization
- Ability to develop and implement Engineering systems for buildings and equipment, including adoption of new technologies, equipment testing and validation, and obsolescence management
- Participates in product and process design

- Enhance accessibility and utilization of the Quality Monitoring Scheme (QMS) to document quality requirements and align with MSPEC
- Act as the customer-facing quality assurance contact to ensure customer requirements are met and effectively communicated within the organization
