RADIATION ONCOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST

Our Radiation Oncology Department in Glenwood Springs, CO is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic team.

As a Radiation Oncology Technologist, you will play a crucial role in administering ionizing radiation for the treatment of various diseases. Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a Varian True Beam linear accelerator, Elekta Flexitron HDR afterloader, superficial x-ray unit, and a departmental CT simulation with 4D capabilities. We offer a wide range of treatments and techniques, including VMAT, SRS, SBRT, DIBH, HDR brachytherapy, LDR brachytherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical terminology, oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics, radiation oncology techniques, radiation safety, and the psychosocial aspects of cancer care.

Education:

  • Successful completion of a radiation therapy training program.
  • R.T. (T) certification and maintaining certification.

Experience:

  • Experience in the field of Radiation Oncology is preferred, but not required. We welcome candidates at all levels of experience.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of radiation safety and current regulations related to radiation therapy.
  • Ability to interpret and deliver treatments according to plans and relevant protocols.
  • Familiarity with modern radiation therapy delivery systems, imaging systems, and electronic medical records.
  • Proficiency in techniques such as Breath Hold, SRS and SBRT, Superficial and HDR.
  • Knowledge of Mosaiq is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
