  • We are seeking a skilled radiologic Mammography Tech to join our award-winning Community based hospital - Trauma II in White Plains, NY. As an Outpatient Radiologic Mammographer, you will work under the supervision of the Radiology administrator and/or designee, performing routine and special procedure imaging. You will prepare patients for procedures, assist radiologists as needed, operate and maintain equipment, and adhere to established radiology “standards of care”. Your role will also include applying principles of radiation protection and taking responsibility for assigned areas and duties. Additionally, you will play a key role in our practice-wide customer service programs and other related responsibilities, such as quality assurance.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include:

    1. Understand and adhere to the Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
    2. Prepare and position patients correctly for specific examinations, ensuring proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires.
    3. Assume responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures, producing high-quality technical images, and reviewing completed exams for accuracy and completeness.
    4. Assist physicians during procedures when necessary.
    5. Perform equipment quality assurance and calibrations, and order supplies as needed.
    6. Be willing to work flexible hours, including holidays, overtime, and various shifts to ensure adequate and safe coverage for the outpatient facility.
    7. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and accessories, and report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel.
    8. Process film/images and print CDs when required.
    9. Perform routine office tasks, such as answering phones, checking-in patients, obtaining previous reports/films, and other related duties as needed.
    10. Show radiologist images and communicate reports to attending physicians.
    11. May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor.
    12. Treat all individuals in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the organization's behavioral standards.
    13. Introduce yourself and educate each patient or family member about the ordered examination.
    14. Provide age-appropriate care based on the physical and psychosocial needs of different patient populations.
    15. Attend staff meetings and in-services, and perform other related duties as required.
    16. Participate in coverage rotation to other outpatient offsites.
    17. Hours and duties may change according to the needs of the offsite practices.
    18. Position is eligible for certification incentive.

    Education & Experience Requirements:

    • High School Diploma/GED required.
    • Must be a graduate of an allied health education and accredited radiography school or hospital-based program.
    • NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required.
    • ARRT registered (RT).
    • Passing advanced mammography examination/certification required, including 40 hours of training in mammography.
    • Continuing education requirements must be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies.
    • BLS certification through the (AHA) American Heart Association is required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.
    • Radiation dose pledge for both Image Gently and Image Wisely through the American College of Radiology (ACR) will be performed during the orientation process and before the end of the probationary period.
