DAY SHIFT

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, alternating weekends/holidays

We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist to work under the supervision of the Radiology administrator and /or designee. In this role, you will perform routine and special procedure imaging, prepare patients for procedures, assist radiologists when needed, operate and care for equipment, process images, and adhere to established radiology standards. You will also apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure. Additionally, you will be responsible for assigned duties, ensuring excellent customer service, and performing quality assurance. Your professional judgment will be crucial in performing diagnostic and special procedure medical radiographic images.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Follow Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.

2. Properly prepare and position patients for specific examinations, documenting images and required questionnaires.

3. Assume responsibilities for designated areas and produce high-quality and complete exams.

4. Assist physicians during procedures when necessary.

5. Conduct equipment quality assurance and calibrations, and order supplies.

6. Be available for emergency procedures and provide adequate coverage as needed.

7. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and accessories.

8. Process images and print CDs as required.

9. Perform routine office duties, such as answering phones and documenting patients' information.

10. Coordinate patient transport.

11. Communicate with radiologists and attending physicians, documenting interactions.

12. May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor.

13. Treat all individuals with professionalism and courtesy.

14. Introduce and educate patients and their families about the ordered examination.

15. Provide care based on the needs of different patient populations.

16. Attend staff meetings and in-services, and perform other related duties.

17. Adapt duties and hours based on department and hospital needs.

18. Prepare schedules.

19. Maintain time sheets and prepare payroll.

20. Order supplies.

21. Manage daily patient flow and departmental tasks.

Education & Experience Requirements:

- A graduate of an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program.

- NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required. ARRT registered (RT) and radiograph (R).

- Compliance with continuing education requirements (24 ECE credits over a two-year period).

- BLS certification through the AHA is required.

- Completion of radiation dose pledge for Image Gently and Image Wisely through the ACR.
