Powdered Materials Research Engineer

Location: Nashville, TN


My client, an International Manufacturer with over $900MM in global sales, is a leader in the carbon and graphite products industry. They are currently hiring a Research Engineer for Powdered Materials at their growing location in Nashville, TN. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop new products, improve existing products, and optimize manufacturing processes.   • U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to the company's involvement in U.S. Defense Department projects, subject to ITAR rules.
  • Minimum requirement is a B.S. degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering. A M.S. degree is strongly preferred but not required.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience working with graphite materials and production methods such as pressing, extrusion, and/or isostatic.
  • Experience in materials engineering related to ceramics, carbon, graphite, and/or powdered metals is essential.
  • Proficiency in high-temperature materials processing is required.
  • Strong project management skills are preferred.
  • Must be proficient in experimental design, statistics, and data analysis (DOE, ANOVA).
  • Ability to work within a team environment while also being a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
  • Experience or familiarity with Lean Six Sigma Methods / Operational Excellence is advantageous but not mandatory.

COMPENSATION RANGE: $90K to $100K base salary plus 5% bonus.
