The Nutrition Consultant is responsible for the development and implementation of the nutrition services program, working closely with the interdisciplinary team (IDT). This role includes providing nutrition assessments and counseling to participants, acting as a liaison with food and supplement service providers, creating menus, and ensuring compliance with kitchen and meal service regulations.
Essential Job Duties:
- Conduct nutrition assessments to determine the needs, preferences, and goals of participants and collaborate with IDT to develop care plans.
- Deliver and document nutrition interventions in accordance with physician orders and care plans, including special diets and counseling.
- Oversee menu planning and meal delivery programs to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise the nutrition staff, including hiring, training, and mentoring.
- Guide the intake and enrollment process.
Job Requirements:
- Registered Dietitian with at least four (4) years of experience in directing nutrition services.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / First Aid Certification required.
- Reliable transportation.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- At least one (1) year of experience with frail or elderly populations.
