YOUR ROLE: As the Retail Remodel Estimator, you will play a crucial part in our company by accurately estimating the costs of Retail Remodel and Rebuild Projects. Primarily, you will analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other relevant documents to provide precise cost estimates, ensuring the financial feasibility and successful completion of projects within budget constraints.
- Project Analysis: Review and analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope and requirements.
- Cost Estimation: Calculate estimated costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services, researching and updating cost data as needed.
- Quantity Takeoff: Conduct a detailed quantity takeoff to determine material and labor requirements for various project components.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and quotes.
- Cost Breakdown: Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and additional expenses like permits and inspections.
- Budget Preparation: Assist in developing project budgets and provide cost analysis for financial planning.
- Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest alternative materials or methods without compromising quality.
- Bid Proposals: Prepare bid proposals and promptly submit estimates to clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, project documents, and communication with clients and subcontractors.
- Cost Tracking: Monitor project costs and provide updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction methods to enhance estimate accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience in Retail Remodel / Retail Ground Up Construction.
- Proficiency in construction estimation software and tools.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
