RESPONSIBILITIES:
Multiple positions are available due to ongoing retail projects. The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all construction activities at the project site, including managing field personnel and subcontractors to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion of the work. This includes maintaining high-quality standards, coordinating labor and trades, and enforcing construction safety practices. The Superintendent also manages the job site office and ensures project closure. This client is open to candidates living in the Carolinas, Georgia, or Eastern TN (and open to relocation to these areas) who are willing to travel locally and work some nights.

  • Coordinate and supervise construction activities
  • Ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion with high-quality workmanship according to original plans and specifications, including any necessary changes
  • Create and maintain construction schedules, identify and solve problems
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as needed
  • Understand project plans and specifications
  • Build positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and employees
  • Prepare daily reports, safety reports, schedules, and oversee completion of final punch list
  • Promote job site safety and address any job site hazards
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policy and regulatory requirements, including storm-water compliance
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site, including the construction office
  • Conduct weekly progress meetings with all trades present
  • Review job cost reporting and assist project managers in budget control
  • Review subcontractor scopes of work and provide feedback to project managers before contract award
  • Create staging plans and manage site logistics
  • Collaborate with project managers to schedule pre-construction meetings for critical path crafts before project mobilization
  • Review and provide feedback on submittals for compliance and coordination
  • Ensure high-quality work by managing workflow for crafts, suppliers, employees, and third-party contractors

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience leading crews or overseeing remodel/upfit work
  • Strong experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production in all construction phases
  • Experience with retail remodel/retail upfit for Publix and/or Walmart

Strong hands-on leadership skills required.
