The position of Highway Supervisor is available in Charlotte, NC. The primary responsibility of the Roadway Superintendent is to effectively manage multiple foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and maintain safety standards in order to meet production goals. Additionally, the Roadway Superintendent will assist project management in supervising superintendents, foremen, and employees. The role includes managing and directing multiple superintendents, foremen, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure production goals are met and operations are conducted safely.

• Must possess a minimum of 5-10+ years of recent experience in heavy highway and road construction.

• Create plans and reports to update schedules.
• Create work plans and develop 2-week schedule look-aheads.
• Set and achieve production goals.
• Convey plans, safety measures, and schedules at weekly meetings.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of plans and specifications in order to effectively teach and train others.
• Analyze operations/methods and constantly seek more efficient and safer ways to perform tasks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, managers, and colleagues.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work areas, trucks, and trailers.
• Understand daily costs, monthly reports, and cost projections.

Job Requirements:

• Must possess a minimum of 5+ years of recent experience in heavy highway and road construction.
• Prior experience in heavy highway and road projects ($5M+) is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Must have the ability to think independently and effectively solve problems.
• OSHA Competent Person certification is required.
• Must have an excellent driving record.
