Sales Account Manager – Custom Engineered Components (Minnesota-Based Remote Role)

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage and expand accounts in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota
  • Primarily focus on existing clients while actively seeking new ones
  • Handle quoting, follow-ups, and order tracking
  • Act as a trusted partner to engineers and procurement teams
  • Frequently visit customer sites, including some rural travel
  • Utilize CRM, ERP, and LinkedIn for organization and workflow management
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering and production teams to meet client needs
  • Strategize travel routes to maximize face time and business development opportunities

Requirements:

  • Preferred: BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or at least 5+ years of technical sales experience
  • 3–7+ years of B2B industrial or technical sales experience (focus on parts, equipment, custom components, or custom equipment)
  • Sound mechanical knowledge, ideally gained from working with machinery or tools
  • Prior experience with manufacturing clients or technical buyers
  • Familiarity with quote creation and proficiency in using ERP/CRM systems
  • Organized mindset and proactive approach to account planning
  • Willingness to travel frequently within assigned territory
  • Curiosity and problem-solving skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Hands-on manufacturing experience or equipment troubleshooting
  • Background as an engineer or technical professional who transitioned into sales
