Central Valley Agricultural Sales Specialist

Positions: Sales Agronomist

Location: California – Central Valley

An international company with a focus on providing nutrition into the soil/at the root is seeking an Agronomist familiar with citrus and blueberry crops.

The company offers science-based plant and soil services that provide a valuable synergy between crop performance and technology to farmers. This includes a cloud-based data platform to support informed decision-making.

The main purpose of this role is to identify client needs and recommend potential solutions using the company's technology, services, and/or products. The Sales Agronomist will support and promote clients' business and growth.

Responsibilities

Advise clients on optimizing plant nutrition for higher yields

Provide technical recommendations to customers based on various analyses

Identify and implement business opportunities to increase market share

Build and maintain relationships with customers through regular on-site visits

Market and sell products and services

Secure repeat business

Establish and position yourself as a strategic and trusted partner

Prepare and present technical presentations to clients and industry stakeholders

Gain extensive knowledge of the company's products in specific geographic locations and crop types

Participate in industry associations, trade shows, and conferences

Conduct research and development for continuous product improvement

Perform field trials

Compile and meet sales budgets

Maintain financial and administrative records

Experience / Background

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Agronomy or related field

3-5 years of experience in plant health or nutrition

Agronomist with references from clients in the Central Valley

Strong understanding of fruit crops

Experience with precision agriculture, soil science, and plant nutrition

Passionate about agriculture

Solid verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work both in a team environment and independently

Ability to market and sell products and services

Attention to detail and well-organized
