Sales Agronomist
Location: California – Central Valley (Stockton to Lompoc)
International company specializing in soil nutrition is seeking a Sales Agronomist. Familiarity with citrus and blueberry crops is a plus.
The company provides science-based plant and soil services that combine crop performance with technology, including a cloud-based data platform for decision making.
This role involves identifying client needs and recommending solutions using the company's technology, services, and products. It also involves supporting and promoting client business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on plant nutrition to optimize yield
- Provide technical recommendations based on various analyses
- Identify and implement business opportunities to grow market share
- Build and maintain customer relationships through on-site visits
- Market and sell products and services
- Secure repeat business
- Establish yourself as a strategic and trusted partner
- Prepare and present technical presentations to clients and stakeholders
- Gain extensive knowledge about the company's products within specific geographic locations and crop types
- Participate in industry associations, trade shows, and conferences
- Conduct research and development for product improvement
- Perform field trials
- Compile sales budgets and meet targets
- Maintain financial and administrative records
Experience / Background:
- BS or AS in Agronomy or related degree
- Customer references in the Central Valley
- Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) or Pest Control Advisor (PCA)
- 3-5 years of experience in plant health or nutrition
- Experience with precision agriculture, soil science, and plant nutrition
- Passionate about agriculture
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to market and sell products and services
