Your Role Highlights: As a Tax Compliance Specialist, you will engage directly with our dynamic U.S. businesses. Reporting to the U.S. Group Tax Manager and ultimately to the Group Head of Tax, this position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within our agile Group Tax team.

As a Tax Compliance Specialist, you will spearhead critical responsibilities essential for compliance triumphs, ensuring a tangible impact across all U.S. states with Nexus presence.

Your Adventure Begins With:

  • Preparation, review, and submission of state and local sales tax returns for the Corporation, ensuring precise and timely compliance.
  • Maintenance of a tax rate lookup table to uphold current tax rates.
  • Independent assessment of sales & use tax on taxable purchases where tax isn't included on the invoice.
  • Compilation of tax accounting payment summaries and ensuring timely submissions.
  • Reconciliation of sales tax-related General Ledger (GL) liability tax accounts for the Corporation.
  • Familiarization with Corporation's accounting systems and sales tax engine to enhance understanding of sales tax compliance processes.
  • Management of Sales & Use tax State audits and Exemption Certificate maintenance.
  • Utilization of Excel and automation tools to streamline reporting processes and manage recurring tasks efficiently.
  • Identification of enhancements and efficiencies within monthly sales tax processes.
  • Completion of related ad hoc duties as required.

Ideally, you have a minimum of 2 years of experience in U.S. sales and use tax, along with a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
