Energy and Commodities Sales Representative
Location: Houston, TX
Sales Executive position available for a client in the Houston Galleria Area. This role involves selling B2B industry-leading publications and data services in the global energy and/or commodities markets. The sales territory covers North, South and Central America. This is a target-driven role with a base salary plus commission.
Responsibilities:
- Sell business intelligence and data products, including well-known monthly and quarterly analytical products, databases, and forecasts.
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, ensuring client requirements are met and sales and renewals exceed targets.
- Collaborate with social media and marketing support staff in Houston to create market outreach and prospecting initiatives to attract new clients.
- Create sales strategy and tactics suitable for the sales territory.
- Assist in organizing and promoting periodic client and prospect events, webinars, and other marketing activities.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
- A proven track record in achieving B2B sales of high-value information products, preferably in the energy or related industry.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently across a large and diverse territory.
- Ability to generate leads and prospects.
- Experience in data and intellectual property (IP) sales, with knowledge of licensing issues.
- An organized approach to sales and account management.
Other requirements:
- Travel as necessary to visit clients, attend meetings, and industry conferences.
- Coordinate with the editorial team to stay informed about our products, market trends, and industry developments, resolving customer queries and providing feedback to editorial teams.
- Manage sales administration tasks, such as drafting contracts and agreements and updating database information.
- Work with the marketing team to develop effective campaigns.
