Head of Cleaning and Hygiene

Location: Cincinnati, OH

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Cleaning and Hygiene to join our team in Cincinnati, OH. As a leading company in the industry, this role will play a vital part in meeting the needs of our customers nationwide. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and hygiene operations at our facility.

The position primarily involves day shift work, but flexibility to support off hours and weekends is required. In this role, you will manage the sanitation and pest control operations within the facility, ensuring compliance with cleaning processes, equipment usage, and plant regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for setting cleanliness standards, implementing sanitation projects, and maintaining pest control measures.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive sanitation strategy at the plant level, including long-term goals and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and supervise all sanitation operations in the plant, ensuring adherence to established standards and controls.
  • Engage team members to enhance processes and enforce safety guidelines, GMP's, and plant policies.
  • Oversee sanitation department budget, track costs, and manage the department as a business.
  • Provide training to sanitation department personnel, as well as other departments requiring sanitation training.
  • Oversee third-party contract services for sanitation chemicals, pest control, and uniforms.
  • Coordinate monthly internal audits and lead corrective action efforts, addressing findings with appropriate corrective actions.
  • Empower direct reports to take on challenging projects, solve complex issues, and expand their skill sets.
  • Lead and document departmental training, operational inspections, ATP results, sanitation chemical titrations, daily operation sheets, and the master sanitation schedule.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, with a preference for a bachelor degree
  • At least 5 years of experience leading high-performance teams and driving improvement
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in sanitation, with some experience as a Sanitation Manager preferred
  • Experience with CIP systems and wet cleaning
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Working knowledge of the Six Step Cleaning Process
  • Availability to work off-shift and weekends, as required
