Construction Schedule Coordinator

Required Skills and Experience:

This is a senior-level role that will involve working as the lead on either large commercial projects or small projects, handling scheduling responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and analyzing project information and creating clear documents that help eliminate design discrepancies and issues, while enhancing the efficient planning and scheduling of projects. They will collaborate with the project team and trade partners to develop detailed schedules. The role also involves monitoring projects according to established schedules based on departmental procedures. The incumbent will input, analyze, and monitor design deliverables, procurement, and construction schedules. Additionally, they will create internal and external reports detailing project status. The role requires the application of planning and scheduling techniques and cost management methods, and will involve substantial evaluation, analysis, and modification of such standards to solve problems.

Requirements:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in ERP cost management tools.
  • Proficiency in Primavera 6.
  • Working knowledge of programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various construction disciplines.
  • 7-10 years of previous experience in industrial or commercial construction is required.
  • Preferred: B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration.

Key Job Responsibilities:

The Construction Schedule Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all scheduling activities for assigned projects. They will develop schedules based on their extensive knowledge of schedule development and the construction industry.

  • Create initial schedules for discussion and refinement by the project team.
  • Preferably possess a strong background in scheduling and 3D modeling.
  • Maintain a database of estimated durations for individual activities and overall project durations.
  • Develop the baseline schedule using properly sequenced work activities.
  • Supervise all project scheduling activities and provide necessary status updates, forecasts, and reports.
  • Collaborate with the project team to create project schedule layouts, alternate schedules, and progress measurement.
  • Review and critique monthly schedule updates from Vendors and Subcontractors.
  • Ensure that the updates accurately reflect the work completed.
  • Gain understanding of project flow and logistic requirements.
  • Support ongoing projects by liaising with the project manager and discipline leads to assess project status, identify areas for improvement, address delays, and concentrate efforts as needed.
  • Suggest alternative plans to keep the project on track.
  • Perform any additional duties as requested by project management.
